ZoomInfo + DotRadar
DotRadar is not a contact database and does not try to be one. It tells you which carriers are worth a call and why — the buying window, the fleet profile, the radius, the incumbent vendor. ZoomInfo tells you who to call there. Connecting them means you spend enrichment credits on carriers that already cleared a scoring bar, instead of on a list you bought.
Weighing up whether you need ZoomInfo at all for trucking? Here is what it covers for motor carriers and what it does not — field by field.
What the integration actually does
Once connected, DotRadar can pull named contacts — person, title, email, direct or mobile phone, LinkedIn where present — onto any carrier in your universe, and store them team-wide so a teammate opening that carrier tomorrow sees the same people without spending the credit again.
- One carrier at a time. Open a carrier → enrich contacts. Best when you are working a specific account.
- In bulk, from a list. Drop a CSV of DOT numbers (or paste them) into Import → Live enrich and DotRadar runs the list through ZoomInfo for you — no export, no re-import.
- Or bring an export. Already pulled a list out of ZoomInfo? Import the CSV and DotRadar matches each row to a real USDOT and keeps the contacts against it.
How to connect
- In DotRadar, open Integrations and find the ZoomInfo card.
- Enter the username and password of a ZoomInfo account with API access, and click Save. Credentials are stored for your team and used only to call ZoomInfo on your behalf.
- Click 🔌 Test connection. This is the important step — see below.
Test the connection before you rely on it
Three separate things have to work, and they fail differently. The test reports each one on its own so you are never left guessing why a contact list came back empty:
- Authenticated — your username and password were accepted.
- Contact search — ZoomInfo returned people at a test company. Search is free and spends no credits.
- Contact enrichment — an actual email address came back.
If the first two pass and the third does not, the integration is working and your ZoomInfo account is the constraint — almost always an entitlement that does not include contact enrichment, or exhausted credits. That is a conversation with your ZoomInfo rep, not a support ticket with us, and the test says so explicitly rather than showing you an empty list.
How credits are spent
ZoomInfo separates search from enrich, and the distinction is the whole ballgame for cost:
- Search costs nothing. It finds the people at a company and tells us which of them have an email on file — but it deliberately returns no email addresses or phone numbers.
- Enrich costs one credit per new person, and is the only call that returns contact details. Re-enriching the same person is free on ZoomInfo's side for twelve months.
So DotRadar searches first, filters to people ZoomInfo already reports as having an email, and only then enriches. You do not spend credits discovering that someone has no email. We also cache what comes back against the carrier for your whole team, so two reps working the same account do not pay twice.
Which titles it targets
By default DotRadar asks for the roles that actually decide in a fleet — Owner, President, CEO, VP, Director, Manager, Controller — and narrows by persona where it can, because a safety director and a maintenance manager are not the same buyer. Our own network data shows how much this varies with fleet size: a dedicated safety seat barely exists below fifty trucks, and the owner is still personally in the room at every size band we measured.
What it does not do
It does not replace the carrier record. FMCSA and MOTUS data — the authority, the filings, the inspections, the radius — comes from us and is not affected by whether you connect ZoomInfo. Nor does DotRadar resell ZoomInfo data: you use your own account, under your own licence, and what you pull stays in your team's workspace.
Apollo and Seamless.ai
The same screen supports Apollo.io (API key) and Seamless.ai. If you have more than one connected you can choose which to enrich with per run. Seamless is marked beta in the app because we have not verified its multi-step research flow against a live account — we would rather label that than let you find out mid-list.
